Greater Toronto Area Philatelic Alliance (GTAPA) – Notice of Dissolution

The Greater Toronto Area Philatelic Alliance (GTAPA) has formally ceased operations effective December 31, 2024.

After more than two decades of promoting philately in the Greater Toronto Area and supporting local clubs through exhibitions, publications, and cooperative initiatives, the Alliance has fulfilled its mandate and has now been dissolved.

Member clubs will continue to operate independently, and collectors are encouraged to stay involved with their local organizations and national philatelic bodies.

On behalf of the GTAPA’s officers and volunteers, we extend our sincere thanks to all member clubs, partners, exhibitors, advertisers, and readers of PhilaJournal for their support over the years.

ALLIANCE: (noun) a union or association formed for mutual benefit

The ALLIANCE shall:
Affiliate, but not replace the member clubs.

Promote the hobby and recruit prospective collectors.

Share knowledge, expertise and resources for the benefit of all member clubs and beyond.

Co-ordinate and host philatelic events and activities.

Operate in a harmonious, respectful and constructive environment to achieve our goals.
