Panelists

Bill Burden

Bill started collecting stamps in Grade 1, and still has his very first pair of tongs. He joined the Truro Philatelic Society in his first year of teaching; that’s where he gained a passion for Constant Plate Varieties (CPVs).

He owned a small stamp dealership for a time, and his exhibits almost always showed varieties on steel engraved stamps of Canada. After retiring from teaching, Bill worked full time as an Auction Manager for nine years.

Bill’s primary philatelic focus now is the Admiral issue. He is attempting to provide as many images of Admiral CPVs as possible. His web sites have over 3000 pages of Admiral CPVs. Visit wgburden.com to find links to all of Bill’s sites.

Garfield Portch

Garfield began collecting stamps in the 1970s. By 2000, he developed into an interest in research and exhibiting postal history.
He is a member of the Philatelic Specialists Society of Canada, the President and Chairman of the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation, and a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, an Emeritus member of the British North America Philatelic Society, and a member of the Canadian Philatelic Society of Great Britain, The American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors, the Institute for Analytic Philately, and the West Toronto Stamp Club.

Already have a question for our panelists? Send it in before the event and we’ll share it with them.
